📋 Description

• Deliver, install, upgrade, patch, and maintain highly reliable and resilient Kubernetes solutions • Participate in Agile practices including daily stand-ups, sprint/iteration planning, retrospectives, backlog and roadmap execution, performance metrics, and progress/blocker reporting • Secure and configure Kubernetes-orchestrated containerized services and their underlying environment • Tune Kubernetes performance and identify problems using service and traffic metrics, monitoring, and alerting dashboards • Lead lifecycle management of containerized services used in Kobayashi Maru software development • Troubleshoot containerized services and publish root cause analyses and postmortems • Establish Service Level Objectives and Site Reliability Engineering metrics • Manage north-south and east-west network traffic for critical container-based services • Ensure Kubernetes environments are patched, configured, adequately resourced, scalable, and not overprovisioned • Design, secure, deploy, and manage Kubernetes environments using automation and an everything-as-code approach across test, IL4 development, IL6 staging/production, and higher-classification environments • Support 14 software product teams and thousands of users developing software for space defense, space domain awareness, and data services

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of professional experience as a Kubernetes Engineer, including two years of SRE experience • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, STEM, or IT from an accredited institution • Current Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate (KCNA) certification, or equivalent • Experience delivering container orchestration solutions • Experience designing, building, and implementing cloud-native architectures with Kubernetes • Experience maintaining, configuring, and monitoring containers using Infrastructure as Code principles in development, test, and production environments • Experience designing containerized solutions for relational/non-relational databases, data auditing, caching, and performance • Experience implementing observability solutions and establishing monitoring foundations • Experience troubleshooting and conducting root cause analysis • Experience deploying and managing micro-services using container orchestration platforms • Experience automating system tasks and infrastructure using scripting languages, configuration management tools, service registry and discovery tools, infrastructure orchestration tools, and automated imaging tools • Experience using and optimizing monitoring and trending systems, log aggregation systems, and their agents • Proficiency with one or more of: Argo CD, cert-manager, Ingress, Keycloak, MinIO, MongoDB, Pinniped, Prometheus, Grafana, VMWare Tanzu Kubernetes Grid, Sealed Secrets, Tanzu Postgres and Operator, Vault, Velero/Restic, Harbor, Kustomize, Jira, Confluence, Gitlab, and Helm • Active Secret clearance • Security+ if privileged access is required for the role
