📋 Description

• Monitor cloud expenditure and ensure costs remain within budget • Alert on anomalies, new costs, and consumption or quota changes • Forecast cloud spend • Manage CUDs and/or reservations where available • Review service consumption and recommend or provide hands-on cost reductions • Investigate vendor technologies and tools to improve applications • Build Finance and team reports • Set up alerts and monitor consumption and quota-based vendors • Maintain consistent tagging of services and applications for reporting • Contact high-consumption teams about waste, errors, or misunderstood services • Enforce minimum tagging and labeling requirements • Adjust quota-based vendor consumption to avoid breaching contract limits • Create and review dashboards and analyze usage trends • Investigate unusual spending changes and explain service cost impacts to engineering teams • Support forecasting, maintain alerts and reports, and identify opportunities to reduce waste or avoid exceeding quotas and contract limits • Partner with Engineering, Finance, and vendor owners on cost visibility, accountability, and cloud efficiency

🎯 Requirements

• Strong understanding of cloud architecture and infrastructure services • Experience managing Kubernetes clusters • Development background, including scripting or building tools to automate reporting, alerting, or cloud operations workflows • Experience using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform to manage cloud resources consistently and repeatably • Experience with cloud cost management or FinOps practices • Familiarity with AWS Cost Explorer, GCP Billing, BigQuery, Grafana, or other reporting and observability tools • Experience building dashboards, reports, or automated alerts for technical and financial stakeholders • Strong communication skills and ability to explain cloud cost drivers to engineering teams, Finance, and leadership • Experience with tagging or labeling strategies, chargeback or showback models, and cloud governance standards • Familiarity with vendor quota management, contracts, reservations, committed use discounts, or savings plans • Analytical, proactive, and comfortable working across engineering and finance • Ability to investigate ambiguous cost changes, communicate findings clearly, and follow through until waste or reporting gaps are resolved • Ability to balance technical depth with practical business judgment

🏖️ Benefits

• Base salary of $110,000–$120,000 per year • Variable compensation may be applicable
