📋 Description

• Lead end-to-end mission success of solid rocket propulsion system programs • Manage large multidisciplinary teams • Oversee complex systems engineering processes • Align technical execution with budgetary and schedule requirements • Lead cross-functional teams through rigorous design reviews and qualification milestones • Ensure final systems are producible and compliant with technical data requirements • Maintain focus on critical paths and deconflict resources • Drive schedule performance through task span-time management and alternative execution strategies • Establish and maintain lean technical scope baselines • Monitor cost performance indices and challenge budget change requests • Serve as primary technical spokesperson for programs • Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships • Present programmatic material, cultivate new business, and keep customer requests within authorized scope • Provide data-driven technical alternatives for collaborative decision-making • Report to the Director of Engineering within the Strategic Systems department

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline • 15 years of engineering experience • 5+ years of technical leadership in solid rocket motors (SRMs) • Ability to direct the end-to-end technical lifecycle of programs through design reviews and qualification milestones • Ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams and manage program milestones, critical paths, resources, schedules, and task span-times • Experience establishing and maintaining lean technical scope baselines, monitoring cost performance indices (CPI), and managing budget changes • Experience serving as a primary technical spokesperson and managing internal and external stakeholder relationships • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level • U.S. Citizenship required • Preferred: at least four years leading controllable solid rocket propulsion system projects with multidisciplinary teams of at least 10 people • Preferred: current DoD Secret Security clearance • Ability to travel up to 25%, including possible overnights near site locations or external test facilities • Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 50 pounds
