• The Content Strategist will review video content according to guidelines and provide research and editorial services regarding current pop culture video content. They will utilize their passion for pop culture and social media trends to identify patterns and provide insight on the digital landscape.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese • Bachelor’s degree or experience in relevant job or industry • Deep familiarity with the cultural and political climates in Japan • Experience working remotely and within multicultural teams • Experience with content moderation, content review, curation, or similar roles • Knowledge of content review guidelines and best practices • Experience with copywriting and proofreading, preferably with a focus on entertainment content • Comfortable working with Google Suite, with spreadsheets and other data management tools • Flexibility to adapt to changes in guidelines, workflows, and tools • Strong understanding of digital streaming products, particularly video and its ecosystem • The ability to review information with an analytical and objective mindset in a fast paced environment • A keen interest in/knowledge of pop culture, social media trends and creators, and trending video content • Strong familiarity with memes, hit songs and content trends in pop culture including music, dance, gaming, beauty, fashion, film, TV, pets, comedy, and/or sports • Familiar with popular social media platforms including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, Clubhouse, etc.
