Description

• As a Tech Lead Manager on our product engineering team, you’ll lead a small team of product engineers to build the features that make Gather a delightful remote-work product for tens of thousands of offices and hundreds of thousands of users. • As a lead, you’ll play a key role in shaping the form and function of our product, partnering closely with designers, product managers, and other leads. • You’ll also be responsible for defining how we build our product, finding engineering paths that start with rapid experimentation but end with delivering a polished, high-quality product. • You’ll build full product lines spanning the likes of work productivity tools, virtual offices and worlds, gaming mechanics, or real-time communication products. • This role will require you to flex both your technical and managerial muscles. You enjoy pursuing technical excellence as much as guiding and supporting a team. In practice, this looks like identifying technical bottlenecks or constraints for your team, while coaching and leading your team to perform at a higher level.

Requirements

• 2+ years of management experience • High technical proficiency in front-end, back-end, or full-stack engineering • Willingness to spend at least 25% of your time in code • Strong product sense and ability to ruthlessly prioritize in a chaotic and ambiguous environment • Ability to manage and prioritize across multiple projects and timelines • A strong belief in high engineering agency, responsibility, and accountability • A compassionate but clear and focused approach to leadership and management • A keen intuition for well-designed software and beautiful, usable interfaces • Intrinsic motivation and the drive to solve difficult problems without guidance • An open and growth mindset when giving and receiving feedback • You are resourceful, have a bias towards action, and love moving fast • You enjoy spending time understanding customers and are adept and getting to the root problems that your product is uniquely positioned to solve
