Description

• As a Senior Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence (ML/AI) Engineer on Ginkgo’s Biosecurity Team, you will design, train, and validate novel AI models for genetic design, regulatory elements, and genomes. • Collaborate with experts to identify transformational opportunities for AI in genetic design, bioinformatics, and prediction. • Utilize Ginkgo's experimental platform and large datasets for machine learning approaches and strategic data acquisition. • Maintain high-quality documentation of work and discoveries, contributing to the advancement of biosecurity initiatives.

Requirements

• PhD graduate with 1+ years of relevant post-academic experience in AI/ML (or BS 7+ years OR MS 5+ years of professional experience). • Hands-on experience in developing deep neural networks with knowledge of AI model architectures. • Subject matter expertise in genetics, genomics, or RNA biology. • Familiarity with recent literature and state of the art for large model architectures. • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python preferred). • Experience with building machine/deep learning models using frameworks like PyTorch, Tensorflow, or JAX. • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.
