We are on a mission to disrupt the car ownership experience and help people who rely on their vehicles everyday save time and money on one of their most expensive, time-consuming and high-maintenance assets. Simplifying and democratizing car ownership and creating a world-class experience is what drives every decision we make as a company. Since launching our AllCar app in 2019, we have amassed over 4M customers, and expanded beyond insurance shopping to refinancing, safety and repairs. Jerry is looking for a seasoned engineering leader who is passionate about building high performance engineering teams to join us as our VP of Engineering. Reporting directly to our co-founder/CTO, you will be responsible for attracting and engaging high quality talent, and ensuring a high bar of execution for the engineering org of 70+ team members. . You will create a team culture of amplifying Jerry’s values of excellence, ownership, and urgency. What you'll do: • Directly supervise engineering team leads. You will be responsible for high quality and high velocity execution of the engineering org. • Anticipate strategic and scaling-related challenges. • Unblocking and pushing the team to hit deadlines. • Identifying, evaluating, and optimizing processes to maximize efficiency. • Foster a collaborative, ambitious, and outcome-driven culture. • Partner with our People team to attract and engage top talent. • Provide continuous feedback, address underperformance, and recognize the individual strengths and contributions of your team members. • Facilitate and collaborate with cross functional partners including product, design, data science, marketing and operations.

Requirements

Who you are: • You have experience leading a high-performance engineering team. • You have overseen an engineering org of 50+. • You have software development experience scaling a consumer-facing product (mobile or web) • You have a strong sense of urgency to deliver results and inspire the team to achieve beyond what they think is possible. • You have a strong sense of ownership and accountability. • You are enthusiastic about diving into the code and getting your hands dirty when needed. • You have strong technical mastery in software engineering but remain curious and committed to learning and improving your craft
