📋 Description

• Provide comprehensive remote administrative support to the Executive Director of the American Society for Deaf Children (ASDC). • Manage staff calendars, including scheduling meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements. • Support the management of memberships and maintain an effective system for communication with families. • Prepare and edit correspondence, communications, presentations, and other documents. • Handle incoming and outgoing communications, including emails, phone calls, and mail. • Maintain and update records, databases, and files. • Enter and process invoices accurately, and assist with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions. • Organize and coordinate meetings, including scheduling interpreters, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items. • Assist in the preparation of materials for Board meetings and other executive-level gatherings. • Support the Executive Director in various projects, including research, data collection, and report preparation. • Serve as a liaison between the Executive Director and staff, Board members, donors, and external partners.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role, preferably in a non-profit or advocacy setting. • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. • Familiarity with Deaf Culture and American Sign Language (ASL). • Knowledge of basic accounting processes, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, is strongly preferred. • Subject Matter Expertise (SME) or demonstrated knowledge of deafness, Deaf or Hard of Hearing culture, or accessibility considerations. • Experience working with executive leadership and managing complex schedules is preferred. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
