Description

• Develop and oversee project plans for FOIA requests, tracking key milestones and deadlines. • Act as the primary contact for FOIA requesters, offering regular updates and resolving inquiries. • Train and guide staff in the FOIA process to ensure clear understanding of their duties. • Analyze records to determine the necessity of external or additional coordination before release. • Keep precise records of FOIA requests and ensure timely responses. • Collaborate with internal departments to allocate necessary resources for fulfilling FOIA requests. • Oversee the management of all FOIA-related records, both physical and electronic. • Produce and distribute FOIA reports and respond promptly to internal and external queries.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree • Minimum of 10 years of FOIA experience, with a total of 5 years in managing FOIA or related projects. • Experience managing a mid - large team of professionals at various skill levels. • Appeal and Litigation Experience. • Proficient knowledge of FOIA regulations, exemptions, and best practices. • Strong communication skills and professionalism in dealing with various stakeholders. • Experience with FOIA software (such as FOIAXpress) and document management systems. • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite. • Ability to interpret FOIA legislation accurately and apply it in various contexts. • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities. • U.S. citizenship and ability to undergo a Government background check. • Project Management Professional (PMP) desired.
