Description

• Data Scientist role at Yard Stick focusing on fighting climate change with soil • Coordinate with hardware team to improve data collection from spectral soil probe • Partner with soil science team to collect and analyze soil and geospatial data sets • Collaborate with business development team to communicate soil carbon results to customers • Transform, visualize, and analyze data from various sources • Develop statistical and machine learning models to estimate carbon stocks • Collaborate with tech team to extract actionable data from soil data sets • Analyze and communicate results to non-technical audiences • Work with software team to scale processes as Yard Stick grows

Requirements

• 2+ years of relevant data science work experience • Ability to independently devise approaches to answer data questions • Experience with data wrangling and analysis in SQL, Python, pandas, scipy, sklearn • Background in statistics and modeling techniques • Ability to draw conclusions from modeling results • Passion for climate impact • Enthusiasm to learn, teach, and collaborate
