📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, document, and maintain secure, production-quality software • Develop and support Java/Spring backend services, APIs, business logic, database integrations, and React- or Angular-based user interfaces • Analyze existing code and system behavior to diagnose application, integration, data, and performance issues • Support legacy production applications while contributing to incremental modernization and maintainability improvements • Write and optimize SQL queries, database objects, and data-access components using PostgreSQL • Participate in code reviews, automated testing, defect resolution, release preparation, deployment validation, and production support • Work within AWS-hosted environments and continuous integration and continuous delivery processes using Jenkins and GitHub • Support the ongoing operation, maintenance, and enhancement of the CMS Health Insurance Oversight System (HIOS)

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree • At least four years of relevant software development experience • Experience maintaining and enhancing legacy production systems on a federal program • Experience working within formal security, release, change-control, and operational-support processes • Strong Java and Spring experience • Proficiency with React and Angular • Experience developing data-driven applications using PostgreSQL • Strong communication, documentation, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills • Public Trust clearance level • US work authorization without current or future visa sponsorship requirement
