📋 Description

• Define the long-term multi-cloud, multi-region architecture and lead migrations and cloud-native adoption • Architect shared platform services including networking, compute, storage, and APIs for scalable SaaS • Partner with SRE on availability, disaster recovery, observability, fault tolerance, and capacity • Establish cross-platform architecture standards and guide teams through modernization • Improve CI/CD and developer tooling with Platform Engineering • Own Alteryx’s long-term cloud platform architecture and drive modernization initiatives • Design highly available, scalable architectures across compute, networking, storage, and platform services • Establish reference architectures and best practices and run architecture reviews for security, scalability, and reliability • Partner with Infrastructure, Platform, SRE, Security, and Product Engineering on strategy and execution • Evaluate emerging technologies, prototype approaches, and address architectural debt • Mentor senior engineers and raise architectural maturity across the organization

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in software/cloud infrastructure engineering, including time at Principal Engineer/Architect level • Proven track record architecting large-scale, multi-region, multi-tenant cloud-native SaaS platforms • Deep expertise in distributed systems, Kubernetes, and containerized platforms • Strong experience with GCP (preferred), AWS, or Azure • Solid grasp of cloud networking, including load balancing, service discovery, ingress, DNS, and service mesh • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform • Experience with observability tooling including Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or Datadog • Strong coding skills in Java, Python, Go, or similar • Excellent communication and consensus-building skills across engineering organizations • Valued: enterprise cloud migrations or IDP/platform engineering builds • Valued: AI, analytics, or large-scale data platform experience • Valued: cloud security, governance, or compliance experience • Applicant must be able to serve in compliance with U.S. export controls
