📋 Description

• Support and improve hybrid infrastructure across Windows Server, virtualization, enterprise applications, cloud services, identity platforms, and security-related systems • Support production enterprise environments in Charles Town, WV; co-location facilities; disaster recovery site; and branch offices • Support on-premises and cloud development, test, staging, production-copy, and other environments • Partner with engineering, application, security, and business teams to implement, maintain, and document infrastructure solutions • Install, manage, and troubleshoot physical, virtual, and cloud-based servers, backup systems, and operating systems/software • Administer server-level user accounts, groups, permissions, and access rights using least-privilege and segregation-of-duties practices • Manage updates, patches, upgrades, configuration changes, and code deployments through approved change-control processes • Maintain documentation and evidence for audit readiness, SOX, and internal controls • Monitor and report system performance, usage, capacity, and cloud costs; identify optimization opportunities • Recommend, schedule, and perform infrastructure improvements, upgrades, and repairs • Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting server performance, efficiency, and availability • Assist in developing enterprise network and server solutions, functional requirements, project plans, and implementation plans • Develop and document instructions and guidelines • Support availability, resiliency, monitoring, and incident response for mission-critical infrastructure and application services • Perform backup, recovery, and archiving duties • Provide escalation support and technical guidance to infrastructure, systems, VoIP, endpoint, and service desk teams • Administer enterprise virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere/ESXi and Hyper-V, including VM lifecycles, templates, snapshots, and resource allocation • Integrate on-premises virtualized systems with cloud services • Develop and use PowerShell and infrastructure-as-code automation • Support cloud resource optimization, utilization evaluation, and workload rightsizing • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of progressively responsible systems engineering or infrastructure operations experience in a mid-sized to large enterprise environment • Experience with cloud-based administration, including deployment, configuration, and management of cloud resources • Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, routing, firewall concepts, load balancing, segmentation, and on-premises/cloud connectivity • Ability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds and access data center, IDF, or office spaces as needed • Willingness to travel occasionally to data centers, branch offices, and other company-supported locations • Availability for core support hours Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., and rotating 24x7x365 on-call schedule • Knowledge of identity services, directory platforms, SQL administration, and networking technologies • Experience with Active Directory, Entra ID or equivalent cloud identity services, DNS, DHCP, and access management practices • Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, securing, patching, backing up, recovering, monitoring, and tuning Windows Server environments and related enterprise platforms • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID or equivalent identity platforms, IIS, endpoint or configuration management tools, collaboration platforms, and enterprise application hosting • Experience using PowerShell and automation practices • Familiarity with load balancing, application delivery, and high-availability technologies such as F5 or cloud load balancers • Ability to work independently and collaboratively • Ability to mentor Tier 1 technicians on application issues • Proven judgment and understanding of operational priorities • Flexibility in a fluid and changing environment • Excellent problem-solving abilities • Methodical, organized, and detail-oriented • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to learn new skills as needed • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or Information Technology • Relevant certifications are preferred but not required
