📋 Description

• Act as a primary architect for Arc's AWS cloud architecture, automation, and AI-native runtime and delivery capabilities • Establish and evolve paved roads, reference architectures, reusable components, signposts, and guardrails for production delivery • Drive architecture decisions for platform scale, performance, resilience, affordability, AI workloads, and edge workloads • Own production monitoring across model-level and delivery-layer signals, including latency, drift, failures, agentic traffic, crawler behavior, and abuse • Design self-service build, deploy, and scale capabilities, including CI/CD workflows, infrastructure-as-code frameworks, service scaffolding, and observability patterns • Track lead time for changes, deployment frequency, change failure rate, and time to restore service • Set infrastructure patterns and guardrails for AI and agentic workloads, including inference, retrieval, vector storage, routing, fallback, and caching • Architect multi-tenant safety patterns for tenant-scoped retrieval, data isolation, prompt and response auditing, and abuse prevention • Design AI gateway, governance, observability, residency, retention, privacy, and FinOps capabilities • Monitor AI and agentic traffic across the edge and content APIs • Architect defenses against aggressive crawlers, scraping, prompt injection, data exfiltration, and automated abuse • Structure delivery architecture to safely meter, tier, and potentially monetize AI access • Partner with CDN and edge providers including Akamai, Cloudflare, and CloudFront • Define Arc's approach to AI-assisted development across the software development lifecycle • Establish CI/CD guardrails and quality gates for AI-generated code and build evaluation harnesses • Guide cross-organizational AI initiatives and advise leadership on build, buy, and partner decisions • Serve as technical authority for external operations partners while partnering with internal SRE and operations • Mentor senior engineers and architects and advocate for quality, testability, and security best practices

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years designing and building highly scalable, distributed systems, including time as a technical leader or architect across multiple teams or domains • Deep AWS expertise, including Lambda, ECS, Step Functions, CloudFormation, IAM, and DynamoDB • Strong CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform and AWS CDK • Proficiency in server-side languages, preferably Python and Node.js, with experience in Go or Java • Deep knowledge of SAML, SSO, MFA, and OAuth; familiarity with Okta • Experience with NGINX and AWS API Gateway • Strong grounding in API design, event-driven systems, microservices architecture, and database systems • Hands-on experience integrating AI and large language model capabilities into production systems, including retrieval-augmented generation, tool use, and agentic workflows • Understanding of inference cost and latency characteristics • Working knowledge of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Claude Code • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field is welcome, but not required; equivalent practical experience is weighed equally • Preferred: experience architecting AI-native platforms or AI gateway and governance layers in multi-tenant SaaS environments • Preferred: experience with Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, or comparable managed AI services • Preferred: experience designing internal developer platforms and improving DORA or similar metrics at scale • Preferred: experience with external or outsourced operations teams in a governed architecture model • Preferred: experience in content platforms, publishing systems, or digital experience platforms • Preferred: familiarity with Akamai, Cloudflare, CloudFront, edge intelligence, personalization, bot management, AI crawler and scraping defense, agentic traffic monitoring, edge monetization, FinOps, and model/inference/delivery-layer observability
