Astra targets developer-led teams and platforms, enabling fast time-to-market, intelligent routing, and configurable payment workflows for B2B customers via one integration.

📋 Description

• Own core platform infrastructure, including the Terraform migration covering VPC, IAM, and networking • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and environment provisioning • Build tooling and abstractions enabling product engineers to ship and run code independently • Advance observability infrastructure, including service instrumentation and metrics collection • Standardize monitoring and alerting for business, financial operations, and synthetic monitoring metrics • Harden CI/CD pipelines, including secrets migration and self-service deployment tooling • Support GCP infrastructure work, including dead-letter queue handling and messaging-system reliability • Build compliance remediation tooling, local development and onboarding tooling, GCP cost visibility, and infrastructure architecture documentation • Operate independently on production infrastructure changes • Partner directly with product engineers to unblock their work

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in a platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or backend engineering role with significant infrastructure ownership • Experience building or significantly maturing internal developer tooling, CI/CD systems, or service platforms • Experience in a startup or small-team environment with meaningful infrastructure ownership • Direct production experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably GCP; AWS or Azure also relevant • Experience with infrastructure-as-code • Track record of partnering closely with product engineering teams • Comfort operating independently on production infrastructure, including Terraform, IAM, and CI/CD • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience • Strong proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi • Experience with container orchestration such as Kubernetes or ECS • Experience building CI/CD pipelines from the ground up • Solid backend engineering skills in Go, Python, or TypeScript/Node • Experience designing and maintaining internal APIs and service abstractions • Familiarity with observability tooling such as Datadog, Grafana/Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry • Understanding of secrets management, access control, and secure-by-default infrastructure patterns • Preferred: experience in fintech, payments, banking-as-a-service, or another regulated industry • Preferred: experience building compliance-supporting platform tooling • Preferred: GCP and cross-cloud GCP/AWS infrastructure experience • Preferred: database platform work • Preferred: experience scaling internal platforms during rapid engineering or transaction growth • Must be authorized to work in the United States
