📋 Description

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to assess business requirements and design and document scalable technical solutions • Interpret and maintain technical diagrams and documentation, including context diagrams, data flow diagrams, and process flows • Develop and execute unit, integration, and regression test plans • Troubleshoot and resolve application and integration issues and contribute to root cause analysis • Design and develop modular, maintainable, and reusable code • Apply AI technologies and AI-assisted development tools across code generation, testing, debugging, documentation, and automation • Participate in all phases of Avalon’s Agile SDLC, including sprint planning, development, testing, and deployment • Lead and participate in code reviews • Mentor junior engineers and share engineering best practices • Align technical solutions with business goals and operational needs • Build domain knowledge of health plan operations and related systems • Participate in the on-call rotation to support critical software systems • Preferred contributions include cloud platform work, front-end development, RESTful service design, and unit testing

🎯 Requirements

• Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Java, Go, or TypeScript • Solid understanding of relational databases and experience writing complex SQL queries, such as MSSQL or PostgreSQL • Strong experience using Git, including branching strategies, pull requests, and resolving merge conflicts • Comfortable working in IntelliJ, VSCode, or Eclipse • Practical experience with RESTful APIs, SOAP, and microservices architecture • Applied experience leveraging AI within developer workflows and/or integrating AI capabilities into applications, products, or business processes • Ability to perform advanced tasks in a Linux environment, including scripting and troubleshooting • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and the full SDLC, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI • Solid understanding of secure coding practices and performance optimization techniques • Ability to mentor junior developers • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team environment • Proactive and self-motivated, with a continuous learning mindset • Receptive to feedback and able to provide constructive feedback • Strong problem-solving skills for moderately complex technical issues • Demonstrated ownership and accountability for assigned work • Capability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture • Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
