📋 Description

• Own observability end to end by evolving and streamlining metrics, logs, and distributed-tracing strategy • Build telemetry standards providing teams with a real-time view of production health • Establish service-level objectives with product and engineering teams • Use error budgets to balance velocity and stability • Lead incident response and improve incident response feedback loops • Manage on-call rotations for production systems • Respond to incidents and manage blameless postmortems • Systematically reduce operational toil • Operate and improve Kubernetes/EKS workloads on AWS • Build automation and tooling to reduce manual operational work and improve developer productivity • Mentor engineers on operational excellence • Set standards for observable and reliable services • Influence architecture decisions across teams

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of managing production systems • Deep, hands-on production experience with AWS and Kubernetes • Strong programming/scripting skills • Experience building operational automation • Proven ownership of a full stack observability platform such as NewRelic or Datadog • Track record of leading incident response and delivering improvements in reliability • Clear written and verbal communication skills • Strong desire to mentor others • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States • Butterfly Network will not provide immigration sponsorship of any kind • Security adherence responsibilities, including following company security policies, securely using company assets, completing required security awareness training, safeguarding company data and systems, and reporting security incidents • Experience in highly regulated or compliance-sensitive environments (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, FedRAMP, SaMD) is ideal but not required • Background in technical healthcare protocols and systems integrations (DICOM, HL7, FHIR, PACS, VNA, EMR) is ideal but not required
