📋 Description

• Build and maintain AI agents using large language models such as Claude within Cayuse products • Implement prompts, tool definitions, and orchestration logic • Help build and extend Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers • Implement tools, APIs, authentication, and permission checks for MCP integrations • Write documentation and tests for integrations • Convert AI-extracted rules into deterministic, auditable validations • Integrate AI features into existing Cayuse applications through platform APIs • Collaborate with product teams to fit AI into customer workflows • Write unit and integration tests and help build evaluation sets for LLM accuracy, reliability, latency, and cost • Contribute to AI pilots, investigate failures, identify root causes, and propose fixes • Ship code through CI/CD pipelines to AWS cloud environments, including Amazon Bedrock • Add logging and monitoring to AI services and troubleshoot production issues • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint ceremonies • Develop features using Cayuse’s shared AI platform and established engineering standards • Follow security and privacy standards, test for AI risks, and protect permissions, customer data, and tenant isolation

🎯 Requirements

• 0–2 years of professional software development experience, including internships, co-ops, or apprenticeships • Demonstrated ability to build working software through coursework, internships, personal projects, open-source contributions, or hackathons • Exposure to team-based development using version control (Git), code review, and agile practices • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience • Proficient in at least one general-purpose language (Python or TypeScript/JavaScript preferred; Java with Spring Boot also valued) • Solid grasp of data structures, APIs, error handling, and writing tests • Demonstrated interest in AI technologies and their application to software development • Familiarity with the Model Context Protocol, agent frameworks, or AI coding assistants such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot • Working understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and authentication basics (API keys, OAuth) • Exposure to a cloud platform, preferably AWS; Amazon Bedrock is a plus • Exposure to containers (Docker) or CI/CD pipelines is a plus • Comfortable writing basic SQL queries and working with structured data • Clear communication through readable code, documentation, and pull request descriptions • Strong problem-solving instincts • Coachable and growth-oriented • Collaborative and adaptable in a remote-first environment • Genuine curiosity about AI’s impact on software and knowledge work
