• Independently manage all aspects of compensation for small entities. • Partner with Human Resources Partners to understand compensation needs and develop recommendations. • Evaluate titles, levels, salary ranges, pay rates, FLSA exemption assignments, and other compensation components. • Participate in the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, policies, and guidelines for union and non-union employee groups. • Develop, implement, and administer wage and salary, performance appraisal, and variable pay programs. • Serve as a compensation consultant to HR Partners, Talent Acquisition, Employee/Labor Relations, and enterprise leadership. • Evaluate industry, economic, competitive market, union, and internal compensation data. • Develop job descriptions and recommend job attributes, salary ranges, requirements, pay rates, and FLSA exemption status. • Collect, analyze, and present market data for collective bargaining proposals. • Develop and analyze complex cost modeling scenarios and represent compensation on bargaining teams. • Develop, plan, oversee, and implement ongoing projects and lead department projects. • Develop training sessions, presentations, and informational materials on compensation topics and programs. • Implement merit and performance review programs and train managers on performance evaluation and merit allocation. • Develop custom compensation surveys and support external survey participation. • Interact with management levels across assigned entities and partner with HR colleagues.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field and seven (7) years of experience as a compensation professional, or ten (10) years of experience as a compensation professional. • Broad knowledge of compensation principles, practices, and procedures. • Experience evaluating industry, economic, competitive market, union, and internal compensation data. • Experience developing job descriptions, salary ranges, pay rates, FLSA exemption assignments, and compensation recommendations. • Experience with collective bargaining proposals and complex compensation cost modeling. • Ability to develop and administer compensation, merit, performance appraisal, and variable pay programs. • Ability to develop training sessions, presentations, and informational materials. • Ability to conduct and support compensation surveys. • Ability to work with HR partners, management, executives, Talent Acquisition, and Employee/Labor Relations.
