📋 Description

• Serve as the administrative and operational backbone of the People and HR function • Own Clasp’s employee benefits program end to end, including analysis, benchmarking, recommendations, implementation, renewals, open enrollment, employee education, and enrollment support • Manage relationships with benefits vendors, brokers, and carriers • Monitor plan utilization, cost trends, employee satisfaction, and regulatory compliance • Manage the day-to-day PEO relationship, currently Justworks, including HRIS administration and data integrity • Audit the current PEO/HRIS setup and evaluate whether Clasp should remain on a PEO model or transition to alternative HR infrastructure by 2027 • Own onboarding administration, including I-9 verification, background checks, new-hire documentation, and system provisioning • Own offboarding administration, including documentation collection, equipment return, and system deactivation • Manage 401(k) match and equity data updates in Carta, ensuring accuracy across HRIS, payroll, and cap-table systems • Audit existing HR processes and design, implement, and document scalable processes • Identify and drive opportunities to streamline and automate HR administrative workflows, including through AI tools • Manage leave-of-absence requests and processes, including FMLA and state PFMLA programs • Handle unemployment claims and tax-related audits or inquiries • Own the employee handbook and partner with Compliance and Security on reviews, updates, and audit responses • Monitor and communicate state-by-state HR regulatory changes • Handle employment verification and reference-check requests • Serve as the primary point of contact for HR compliance audits and regulatory inquiries

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with significant ownership of benefits administration and PEO/HRIS management • Hands-on experience managing a PEO relationship; Justworks experience is a strong plus • Experience evaluating HR infrastructure options • Strong experience in benefits administration, including plan design and evaluation, renewals, open enrollment, and vendor/broker management • Working knowledge of federal and state leave laws, including FMLA and PFMLA, and multi-state employment compliance • Experience managing administrative onboarding and offboarding, including I-9 and background check compliance • Experience auditing and rebuilding HR workflows and documentation • Comfort operating as the primary owner of HR operations in a lean, fast-paced environment • Excellent communication and vendor/stakeholder management skills • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification is a plus • Open to remote locations in Eastern Time or Central Time zones only • Candidates who require current or future visa sponsorship are not eligible for this role
