The product targets petroleum engineers, upstream operators, midstream firms, banks/advisors, and other energy professionals who need accurate, high-volume well forecasting and economic modeling.

📋 Description

• Write efficient Python code on structured time series datasets that scales across cloud infrastructure • Own features end-to-end, from scoping and design through implementation, deployment, and monitoring • Participate in software and infrastructure system design discussions and architectural decisions • Build and maintain reliable, well-tested Python backend services and APIs • Model, query, and optimize MongoDB data through schema design, indexing, and aggregation pipelines • Deploy and operate containerized services on cloud infrastructure • Use GCP components including Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and GCS • Incorporate AI-first development practices and AI tooling • Collaborate through code reviews, technical documentation, and shared engineering standards

🎯 Requirements

• Production-grade Python 3.13+ with type annotations and async/await • Experience designing REST or gRPC APIs with OpenAPI contracts and versioning • Hands-on Flask and/or FastAPI experience • Experience configuring Gunicorn for WSGI deployment • Practical knowledge of SOLID principles and clean architecture • Experience with pandas or numpy for statistical and exploratory data analysis • Ability to efficiently process medium-to-large datasets and communicate findings through visualizations or reports • Experience delivering features to production in cloud-based SaaS products • Production MongoDB experience including schema design, indexing, and aggregation pipelines • Experience with MongoEngine or PyMongo • Hands-on experience with uv or similar dependency management tools • Comprehensive pytest testing, including fixtures, parameterization, and mocked external services • Docker and Docker Compose experience • Experience enforcing code quality with ruff and pyright • Ability to take ownership from scoping through shipping and iteration • Ability to translate ambiguous product requirements into technical proposals • Ability to communicate tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders • Ability to conduct code reviews that improve quality and share context
