📋 Description

• Provide technical and architectural leadership within the data engineering organization • Develop and drive the long-term vision for enterprise data platforms and architecture • Formulate and implement data platform strategy across big data, real-time, transaction/operational, and governance domains • Oversee architecture, design, and development of scalable data platforms enabling self-service use cases and AI success • Ensure production success, establish FinOps discipline, and optimize economics through forecasting, runtime analysis, and showback • Communicate data technologies, strategies, roadmaps, and progress to executive leadership and stakeholders • Monitor industry trends and translate emerging technologies into actionable initiatives • Build a strong engineering organization and foster engineering discipline through leadership and mentoring • Collaborate with data and engineering teams on technology and architecture strategy and decisions • Contribute to critical system design, implementation, and operational success • Formulate technology and architecture decision frameworks • Develop business-process expertise to align technology with business outcomes • Work with engineering leadership to execute company technical and business strategy • Conduct impact analyses across multiple applications and systems • Perform technical due diligence and architectural assessments of third-party technologies and solutions • Experiment, test ideas, validate assumptions, and recommend solutions • Document standards, best practices, and engineering artifacts • Debug critical production problems and execute solutions across applications and systems • Lead continuous learning and process improvement • Participate in hiring and mentor team members

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field of study; or equivalent work experience • Minimum 10 years of software engineering experience or comparable depth of experience • Experience in a leadership role overseeing technical direction of data platform, technology, and architecture • Expert knowledge of software engineering best practices and experience building modern data platforms, products, and solutions, especially enabling AI success • Expert understanding and use of modern data technology end to end, including source systems, data integration, data acquisition, data ingestion, data transformation, data aggregation, data governance, business intelligence, data warehouses, data lakes, NoSQL, object storage, streaming, and related technologies • Extensive experience building and driving adoption of software engineering best practices • Strong understanding of AI, distributed systems, cloud computing, and microservices architectures • Demonstrated success building strong engineering organizations and attracting, recruiting, growing, and retaining talent • Demonstrated success building mission-critical enterprise-class data platforms that deliver business impact • Ability to work with business partners and cross-functional team members and coach and mentor experienced team members • In-depth experience building big-data real-time production systems that deliver business success • Experience communicating and articulating technology subjects in a business context and providing timely, clear communication • Well versed in delivery mechanisms such as Agile • Required degrees must have been earned at institutions accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent • Financial services or FinTech industry experience preferred
