📋 Description

• Serve as the primary technical authority for the DanielDefense.com ecommerce platform • Own platform development, administration, infrastructure health, integrations, and site performance across the Magento Open Source storefront • Develop and maintain the customer-facing Magento storefront, including themes, templates, layout XML, RequireJS, Knockout.js, and React components • Own and extend the Three.js 3D product experience • Create, test, schedule, and maintain cart price rules, catalog price rules, promotions, and coupon codes • Manage Magento users, roles, permissions, stores, websites, platform settings, API users, credentials, and access • Configure and troubleshoot shipping, payment, tax, and checkout settings • Support order management and customer service workflows within Magento Admin • Own deployments, cache and index management, cron health, security patching, release cadence, and staging environments • Manage Linux-based server environments and edge infrastructure including Cloudflare, Amazon CloudFront, S3, DNS, and SSL/TLS • Own monitoring and alerting; maintain incident-response, rollback, disaster-recovery, runbook, and architecture documentation • Own Core Web Vitals and overall site performance; improve caching, assets, CDN configuration, and third-party script governance • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations using REST APIs, GraphQL, and webhooks • Manage technical connections to Listrak, Zendesk, Optimizely, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, OneTrust, UpSellit, and Authorize.net • Direct the external Magento development agency; scope projects, write technical requirements, review code, conduct quality assurance, and approve production releases • Maintain analytics implementations, ecommerce event tracking, server-side tagging, A/B tests, and personalization campaigns in Optimizely • Ensure accurate, complete, and trustworthy data collection • Maintain age verification, FFL routing, state-specific shipping restrictions, payment redundancy, PCI DSS-aware development practices, consent, and privacy requirements • Identify and retire technical debt • Demonstrate commitment to environmental health and safety principles and contribute to improvements in Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity • Travel approximately quarterly to Daniel Defense headquarters in Black Creek, Georgia

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years of experience building and operating ecommerce websites, with meaningful hands-on experience on a mature commerce platform • Direct Magento Open Source experience strongly preferred • Strong JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3/SCSS skills with production front-end code experience in legacy and modern frameworks • Experience administering an ecommerce platform, including promotions, users and permissions, integrations, checkout configuration, and day-to-day commerce operations • AWS experience required • Comfortable working from the Linux command line in a cloud environment • Experience integrating SaaS platforms through REST APIs, GraphQL, and webhooks • Ability to manage API credentials, authentication, and platform-side integration configuration • Experience managing CDN and edge platforms including Cloudflare, CloudFront, or equivalent • Hands-on analytics implementation experience including tag management and ecommerce event tracking • Experience with Git-based workflows, CI/CD, branching, merging, and code review • Ability to investigate production issues using application logs, server logs, database information, and other diagnostic tools • Server-side development experience sufficient to trace and debug application issues; PHP preferred, Node, Python, Ruby, or C# transferable • Self-directed working style with ability to prioritize effectively on a small, remote team • Willingness to work for a firearms manufacturer and comfort navigating the technical and regulatory complexity of firearms ecommerce • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job • Demonstrated ability to work in accordance with company values • Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 pounds • Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, and bending throughout the workday • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment when on-site
