📋 Description

• Design, build, test, and support Java-based cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform • Contribute to developing and maintaining Java backend services • Assist in building GCP solutions for data ingestion, processing, storage, retrieval, and distribution • Develop and maintain REST APIs with documentation and backward compatibility • Support AI-enabled features by integrating approved AI services or models • Troubleshoot application issues, participate in root-cause analysis, and implement preventive fixes • Follow secure coding practices and support security and compliance requirements • Contribute to CI/CD activities with DevOps • Implement and maintain logging, metrics, alerts, operational documentation, and runbooks • Collaborate with DevOps, QA, Product Management, security partners, and other cross-functional teams • Participate in software release planning, delivery, testing, and support • Participate in code reviews, team ceremonies, and technical documentation

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college/university • Alternative: candidates without a relevant four-year degree require an additional four years of relevant work experience • 1+ years of experience developing backend applications or services in Java • Experience may be academic, internship, or professional experience • Basic understanding of cloud concepts and interest or experience working on GCP; coursework or hands-on exposure acceptable • Familiarity with REST APIs, common integration patterns, and basic authentication/authorization concepts • Exposure to AI concepts or AI service integration and willingness to learn evaluation/monitoring basics • Understanding of secure engineering fundamentals, including least privilege, secrets handling, encryption basics, and audit logging • Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills • Ability to learn from feedback and follow established engineering practices • Public Trust required; must obtain and maintain it • Must provide onsite fingerprinting at a designated facility • U.S. residency requirement: must have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territories for the required period under the USPS security clearance process • U.S. citizenship is not required
