📋 Description

• Define and manage ACiS and FACTS engineering quality plans, coordinate with HVDC PEM, and ensure EMH guideline implementation • Supervise technical coordination between project work packages • Collaborate with the HVDC Product Delivery Group in Stafford, UK to define technically and economically sound HVDC solutions • Own the timing and quality of project deliverables under PDG/SL scope • Serve as the business’s technological point person throughout the Inquiry to Order phase • Develop technical solutions, configuration, performance estimates, and economics during pre-ITO activities • Provide technical support for subcontractor and power equipment bid packages • Lead and coordinate technical aspects of AC and DC power substation projects • Lead technical interfaces for GSI/SL/PDG solution integration • Direct engineers and designers and coordinate with sourcing and project teams on specifications, cost, and schedule • Ensure engineering solutions comply with customer technical specifications • Maintain the reference solution and manage changes through change control • Review engineering reports for compliance with customer specifications • Direct outdoor substation physical design, layouts, drawings, equipment, cabling, grounding, control buildings, studies, calculations, and bills of material • Organize clause-by-clause analysis for compliance with HVDC product solutions • Develop Engineer, Procure, & Construct estimates for utility, industrial, renewable, FACTS, HVDC, systems, communications, and BOP projects • Write high-voltage equipment specifications and material purchase requests • Evaluate vendor quotations and develop subcontracted engineering scopes of work • Support customer presentations of technical capabilities and proposals • Develop, track, and monitor engineering schedules and deliverables • Lead Gate and Design Reviews • Develop proposals, technical specifications, design-hour and material estimates, vendor quotation support, drawing requirements, clarifications, exceptions, and technical responses • Support definition and validation of the PDG engineering design quality plan

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (BSEE strongly preferred) • Minimum ten years of experience in ACiS system, FACTS, industrial, renewable, or utility HV & EHV substation design • Effective communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work in a team environment • Ability to lead a team and be accountable for team results • Ability and willingness to travel 20% of the time, including internationally • Must comply with company travel and tax policies • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States • Professional Engineering License within the United States or Canada is desired • Extensive EPC engineering experience in T&D, Power Generation, or Oil & Gas is desired • Experience with civil work, plant configuration, control and protection hardware, system and performance studies, or electrical design is desired • Experience with IEC, IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NESC, and NERC CIP standards and codes is desired • Knowledge of Independent System Operators’ and utilities’ technical standards is desired • Computer skills, automation tools, software development, CAD software, and/or 3D CAD/BIM packages are desired • Fifteen years of T&D substation/power delivery systems engineering and project experience is desired • Knowledge of battery sizing, DC systems, transformers, circuit breakers, circuit protection, cables, bus, insulators, arrestors, grounding, and lightning protection is desired • Knowledge of load flow, short-circuit, and insulation coordination studies is desired • GIS and AIS substation project experience is desired • Field testing and commissioning experience is desired • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting capability is desired • Ability to develop and implement standards and structured quality programs • Ability to certify engineering automation output after tool development
