📋 Description

• Frame problems, sequence work, and make tradeoffs with Product and Design • Design systems, including data models, API contracts, and failure modes • Decompose work and write specifications for AI agents to implement • Write code directly when debugging or complexity requires it • Define test coverage and testing levels, direct AI-generated tests, and validate their effectiveness • Incorporate security, reliability, and observability into system design • Review all work rigorously regardless of whether it was authored by a person or an AI agent • Make deployment decisions and respond to on-call incidents • Use incidents to improve production systems • Coach engineers on specifying, delegating, and validating work with AI • Collaborate end to end with Engineering, Product, and Design on customer-facing web and mobile experiences, a unified design system, and AI-powered product capabilities

🎯 Requirements

• Deep server-side experience in a modern language such as Java, Python, C#, Kotlin, or Go • End-to-end ownership of services • Experience with REST contracts, versioning, OAuth2/OIDC, schema design, and SQL • Production experience with async and event-driven systems such as Kafka • Knowledge of idempotency and at-least-once delivery • Experience building and operating production systems at scale on AWS or Azure • Experience with containers, Kubernetes or serverless, infrastructure as code (IaC), and CI/CD pipelines • On-call production operations experience • Ability to define and defend unit, integration, and contract testing strategies • Accountability for reliability and security, including SLOs, incident leadership, OWASP, and threat modeling • PHI/HIPAA or comparable regulated-data experience • Extensive hands-on experience using agentic AI as a primary development surface, including shipping and operating production systems • Ability to identify subtle errors in AI-generated output • Bonus experience with LLM application engineering, including RAG, retrieval quality, evals, and LLM observability, or modern TypeScript frontend work against a design system
