• Design, build, and optimize SQL-, Python-, and Scala-based data transformation tools for EHR migrations, data archiving, and data streaming initiatives • Develop and maintain scalable ingestion and normalization processes for structured and unstructured healthcare data from EHRs, HL7, and FHIR sources • Implement data quality checks and validation rules across systems • Automate ETL workflows, improve performance, and enhance system reliability • Collaborate with project managers, analysts, and solution architects to translate client data requirements into technical solutions • Maintain documentation for data mappings, transformation logic, and system configurations • Adhere to data protection standards and ensure compliance with HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR, and HITRUST frameworks • Diagnose and resolve data-related issues to minimize disruption to client projects • Provide day-to-day technical leadership, documentation, guidance, and support for Implementation Engineering • Improve consistency, quality, scalability, and efficiency of technical client implementations • Strengthen collaboration among Implementation Engineering, Platform Engineering, Project Management, and other Delivery functions
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, focused on data transformation and ETL development • Strong understanding of data transformation concepts, data modeling, and database design principles • Expertise in SQL programming, including complex query development, stored procedures, and database performance optimization • Proficiency with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL and related tools • 5+ years of experience with object-oriented languages including SQL, Python, or Scala • Experience with distributed data/computing tools such as Hadoop and Spark • Experience with cloud-based data services, including AWS • Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as HL7 and FHIR is highly desirable • Familiarity with healthcare regulatory requirements such as HIPAA is highly desirable • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Focus on data accuracy, quality, and integrity • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities • Proven ability to work independently and with a team
