📋 Description

• Own full-cycle recruiting for western roles, including peer support, case management, FP&A, growth, product, and clinical positions • Partner with hiring managers on role intake, requisition setup, and interview structure • Source, screen, and assess candidates and coordinate interviews and scheduling • Build and maintain pipelines for recurring and high-volume roles • Extend offers and coordinate pre-hire steps • Guide western hires through onboarding, including Paylocity setup, documentation, and first-week logistics • Complete I-9 verification and E-Verify steps • Deliver a welcoming new-hire experience through the first 90 days • Manage offboarding and exit steps • Serve as first point of contact for employee policies, benefits questions, and People needs • Support employee relations matters and coach managers on feedback, performance conversations, and corrective action • Maintain employment-law compliance across western states • Support state workforce and program compliance, including in Arizona • Assist with audits, recordkeeping, and employee data accuracy in Paylocity • Support benefits enrollment, leave of absence, and accommodation requests • Contribute to engagement, retention, and internal mobility efforts • Serve as cross-trained payroll backup during the Payroll Specialist’s absence • Monitor the payroll calendar, send reminders, and review and prepare payroll inputs • Coordinate with Accounting and a payroll approver for second-review separation of duties • Escalate complex or time-sensitive payroll matters • Develop and maintain People SOPs, templates, checklists, and workflows, including in Asana • Strengthen recruiting, onboarding, and generalist practices as the organization grows

🎯 Requirements

• At least five (5) years of HR experience, with a strong track record in full-cycle recruiting • Multistate HR experience, with familiarity across western states • Recent, direct experience recruiting for high-volume, mission-driven, or healthcare roles • Working knowledge of employment law across western states, including wage and hour, leave, and pay transparency requirements • Experience with an HRIS and applicant tracking system; Paylocity experience strongly preferred • Direct experience with I-9 verification, E-Verify, and onboarding compliance • Sound employee relations judgment, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality • Clear, approachable communication and ability to coach managers and support employees with empathy • Ability to work independently, follow issues through to resolution, and build structure in a growing organization • Based in the Mountain, Arizona, or Pacific time zone • Must not be a California resident • Nice to have: behavioral health, substance use disorder, or justice-involved population experience • Nice to have: peer support workforce recruiting or support experience • Nice to have: experience building talent acquisition or onboarding programs from the ground up • Nice to have: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification • Nice to have: conversational Spanish • Nice to have: payroll process familiarity or willingness to cross-train as a payroll backup • Nice to have: California labor law experience
