📋 Description

• Develop and maintain backend microservices in TypeScript and NestJS deployed via AWS ECS • Design, implement, and document secure, efficient RESTful APIs • Migrate legacy AWS Lambda serverless functions into containerized ECS services and refactor older systems • Collaborate with front-end and mobile teams, product managers, and designers to deliver end-to-end features • Clarify requirements, review designs, and ensure integration across multiple services • Write clean, tested code; participate in peer code reviews; maintain unit and integration tests • Improve CI/CD pipelines • Own service reliability, monitor performance, troubleshoot production issues, and minimize downtime • Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule approximately one week per rotation

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building backend or full-stack applications in a cloud environment • Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js; hands-on experience with backend frameworks, with NestJS strongly preferred or similar frameworks such as Express/Koa and willingness to learn NestJS • Solid knowledge of AWS services and architecture; experience deploying and running containerized applications in AWS ECS, EKS, or similar • Familiarity with microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture • Experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs, including API security and performance considerations • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB • Experience with caching mechanisms such as Redis; ability to write efficient queries and optimize data access • Comfort with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch and Datadog • Ability to work across different services and tech stacks • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, knowledge sharing, and proactive problem-solving • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship • Preferred: microservice design patterns, REST, gRPC, message queues, API gateways, service mesh, Claude Code or similar AI coding assistants, DevOps/SRE practices, Stripe products, Apple App Store or Google Play subscription platforms
