📋 Description

• Own and operate the LiveKit SFU and real-time media distribution mesh, including reliability and on-call responsibilities • Build new real-time systems supporting customer-facing features from initial design through production • Reduce latency and improve call quality across every platform session • Assess and adopt modern media and transport protocols, including MoQ/WARP • Partner with client SDK, infrastructure, and product teams on cloud mesh architecture and cross-cutting reliability work • Serve as the internal expert consulted by partner teams • Interact with real-time clients and distributed media infrastructure

🎯 Requirements

• Built critical real-time media systems and pipelines that real customers depended on • Knowledge of the WebRTC stack, including ICE, DTLS-SRTP, RTP/RTCP, congestion control, and SDP negotiation • Strong systems programming in Go, Rust, C/C++, Java, or C#; Go preferred • Experience designing asynchronous and multi-threaded systems • Ability to debug asynchronous and multi-threaded systems under production load • Clear communication and ability to thrive with high individual ownership on a small team • Fast, reliable, and practical coding ability • Ability to tackle difficult technical problems • Ability to learn new languages and tools quickly • Contributions to Pion open-source media stack are nice to have • Experience building instrumentation for real-time media quality measurement is nice to have • Knowledge of distributed systems algorithms, including consensus, is nice to have • Experience designing public-facing APIs is nice to have • Legally authorized to work in the US
