📋 Description

• Serve as the highest-level technical authority and subject matter expert for Azure cloud infrastructure and architecture • Define cloud engineering standards, architectural patterns, and governance practices • Lead cloud infrastructure projects end-to-end from design and planning through execution, delivery, and post-deployment operations • Support cloud strategy, architecture roadmap, and platform investment decisions • Mentor and develop Systems Administration and Information Security teams • Evaluate and onboard new cloud engineering talent • Collaborate with Development teams to design and deliver application infrastructure on Azure • Provide Tier 2/3 escalation support for complex infrastructure and cloud issues • Implement and evidence compliance controls for HITRUST 11.3r2 and SOC2 • Architect, deploy, and manage secure Azure environments, including hub-spoke networks, Virtual Networks, NSGs, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, API Management, and Private Endpoints • Define and enforce cloud governance, subscription management, Azure Policy, resource organization, tagging, and cost management • Establish Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform and/or Azure Bicep • Build and own CI/CD pipelines with automated security scanning, testing, and progressive delivery • Establish change management and release governance processes • Lead cloud migrations, including workload assessment, strategy, cutover, validation, and legacy decommissioning • Design reusable Azure infrastructure patterns and templates for application onboarding • Manage hybrid connectivity using ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, and site-to-site connectivity • Design and maintain observability for metrics, logs, alerting, and SLOs • Establish incident response processes and own disaster recovery and business continuity planning • Manage Azure identity and access architecture, including Entra ID, RBAC, PIM, Key Vault, and Managed Identities • Implement cloud security controls, audit logging, evidence generation, and access-review processes for HITRUST, SOC2, and HIPAA • Manage DNS, certificate lifecycle, and network connectivity for healthcare data exchange • Develop PowerShell, Python, or Bash automation solutions • Define engineering standards, runbooks, documentation, vendor relationships, and SLAs • Maintain architecture diagrams, runbooks, standard operating procedures, and how-to guides • Support after-hours availability and on-call response for critical infrastructure events • Complete other duties as requested

🎯 Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience in infrastructure, systems, or cloud engineering • 5 years of senior or principal-level experience in Microsoft Azure • Experience building or establishing a cloud engineering practice or function • Expert-level Azure networking knowledge, including hub-spoke topology, Virtual Networks, NSGs, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, ExpressRoute, Private Endpoints, and DNS • Ability to independently architect Azure environments, including governance, security, and operational frameworks • Expert-level Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform or Azure Bicep, including module design, state management, CI/CD integration, and no-manual-change disciplines • Experience with CI/CD tooling such as Azure DevOps, GitLab, or GitHub Actions, including automated security scanning and progressive delivery • Experience leading cloud migration projects and legacy decommissioning • Strong project leadership and ability to drive multiple complex initiatives with minimal oversight • Experience mentoring and developing technical staff across multiple teams • Experience establishing incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices with defined and tested RPO/RTO targets • Expert-level knowledge of Azure identity and security services, including Entra ID, RBAC, PIM, Key Vault, and Defender for Cloud • Strong networking and security fundamentals, including network segmentation, secrets management, least-privilege access, and certificate lifecycle management • Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or Bash • Working knowledge of HITRUST, SOC2, and HIPAA compliance frameworks, with experience building audit evidence processes • Clear written communication and sound judgment under production pressure • Experience with Zero Trust Network Access solutions preferred • Experience with Azure AI and platform services preferred • Familiarity with healthcare data exchange standards such as EDI, HL7, or SFTP-based interfaces preferred • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience • AZ-104 (Azure Administrator Associate) required — must already hold • AZ-700 (Azure Network Engineer Associate) required — must already hold • AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect Expert) required — must already hold • AZ-400 (DevOps Engineer Expert) strongly preferred • Ability to work at a desk and use a computer, telephone, and basic office equipment • Must pass a background screen before employment • Must complete a drug screen after hire • Must agree to necessary compliance regulations on the first day • Must adhere to applicable HIPAA regulations and company confidentiality, privacy, and security policies
