📋 Description

• Support development, testing, and operation of the NuScale control room simulator and other software projects • Develop software according to NuScale procedures and processes to maintain configuration control • Identify and resolve software defects using issue-tracking software • Identify common-cause issues affecting software performance • Implement solutions for software problems using professional operational principles and company objectives • Work under consultative direction toward long-range goals and objectives • Collaborate with team members to vet solutions and deliver high-quality deliverables • Perform hardware setup and maintenance, including installing computers and monitors and connecting cables • Travel occasionally to other locations outside Corvallis as required • Perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• A minimum of a B.S. degree in software engineering, computer programming, computer science, or another technical degree from an accredited college or university • Mechanical or nuclear engineering degrees may be considered with strong software skills and 5 or more years of demonstrable software deliverables • Five or more years of professional software development experience • Experience managing server/client environments • Familiarity with configuration management of customer-facing products • Working knowledge of Visual Studio and a revision control system such as Git • Previous experience preferred with GitLab, C#, SQL, WPF, networking fundamentals, and distributed systems • Demonstrable understanding of data structures, architecture, and optimizing efficiency • Strong object-oriented fundamentals • Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 • Ability to communicate clearly using phones, personal interaction, and computers • Ability to learn new job functions and concepts quickly and apply them accurately • Ability to travel nationally and locally using common forms of transportation
