📋 Description

• Join Coinbase’s App Infra team within the Consumer & Business group • Execute a greenfield rewrite of Coinbase’s retail mobile app from React Native to native Swift and Kotlin • Own development of core app surfaces in Swift and Kotlin • Translate React Native flows into performant native implementations • Set project-level quality standards through code and design reviews • Build within an AI-assisted code generation workflow • Validate architecture, identify edge cases, and ensure production-quality outputs • Define architectural patterns and improve build speeds and development workflows • Partner with product teams onboarding to the native codebase • Review native pull requests and challenge suboptimal patterns • Optimize slow paths, flaky tests, deploys, and native/React Native handoffs • Drive performance optimization across device tiers, especially low-end Android devices • Architect solutions using trade-off analysis to eliminate loading indicators, scroll jank, and stall counts • Contribute to the dual-app parity strategy during the transition • Identify and eliminate impactful technical debt • Ensure feature and bug-fix synchronization between codebases

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of iOS or Android mobile software engineering experience • Swift/iOS or Kotlin/Android experience • Demonstrated ability to build and ship performant mobile applications • Focus on frame stability, cold start optimization, and responsive UI across diverse device populations • Proficiency in Swift or Kotlin with working knowledge of the other • Willingness to develop cross-platform fluency and own both iOS and Android • Experience with mobile CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and release processes • Track record of delivering project-level outcomes • Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight • Must be located in the USA
