📋 Description

• Develop, implement, and maintain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end functional test scripts • Ensure automated test cases are executable by the end of each Agile sprint and delivered to the Government-managed DevSecOps pipeline • Write test cases before code development in collaboration with software developers under TDD practices • Analyze test automation coverage and contribute to the Test Automation State Assessment Report and automation completion plan • Automate legacy test cases to expand regression coverage across the DEERS application portfolio • Develop and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices at the end of each sprint • Assist with UAT plans, scenarios, and scripts for Government and external partner acceptance testing • Document test activities, results, and defects in the Government-provided Test Case Management System • Contribute to Testing Reports, Release Notes, and Software Version Descriptions • Participate in code reviews at 50%, 75%, and 90% development completion checkpoints • Monitor and enforce quality thresholds • Triage and track defects in JIRA, reproduce errors, and support escalation reporting • Support security scanning with Fortify, Sonatype, and BURP • Review and document code scan results before production releases and when rule packs or STIGs change • Conduct WCAG 2.0 Level AA and Section 508 accessibility testing and support VPAT preparation • Support stress and load testing in the ProdSim environment • Coordinate Disaster Recovery testing with technical and operations teams • Support IV&V of application changes in UAT before production deployment • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives • Maintain sprint defect tracking, test completion status, and burn-down metrics in JIRA • Adhere to deployment pipeline standards and quality gates • Contribute QA metrics and status to the Monthly Quality Status Report

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.; or 16 years with HS diploma • Obtain and maintain public trust clearance • IAM/IAT Level II certification: CompTIA Security+, SSCP, CompTIA CySA+, or GSEC • Experience in software quality assurance, test automation, or software testing roles • Experience writing automated test scripts in at least one automation framework or scripting language, such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Python, or Java • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevSecOps principles • Basic experience with defect tracking tools, preferably JIRA • Understanding of unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking • Ability to document test results clearly and accurately • Ability to collaborate with developers, leads, and Government stakeholders • Preferred: ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent • Preferred: familiarity with TDD practices • Preferred: exposure to Fortify, Sonatype, or BURP • Preferred: Section 508 / WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility testing experience • Preferred: familiarity with ServiceNow • Preferred: understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated test integration • Preferred: exposure to Oracle or PL/SQL • Preferred: prior DoD or Federal government IT program experience
