📋 Description

• Manage one to several engineering teams full time • Own team delivery, people, standards, and operational health • Hire engineers and manage feedback and performance processes • Maintain technical standards in design reviews, incidents, and roadmap discussions • Establish AI-native development practices as a team standard • Ensure predictable and sustainable delivery of commitments • Partner with Product and Design peers on team outcomes • Monitor engineering outcomes, delivery signals, quality signals, and activity metrics • Ensure SLO coverage, deployment frequency, lead time improvement, humane on-call practices, and tested releases • Orchestrate high-pressure incident responses, including communication and decision-making • Identify and eliminate single points of failure through shadowing, rotation, and documentation • Develop engineers and support progression into higher-level roles • Make explicit tradeoffs for technical debt and platform work • Partner with senior engineers, Commerce Engine, Core Platform, and Customer Care teams

🎯 Requirements

• Experience managing engineers full time, including hiring, performance, and delivery accountability • Sufficient technical depth to hold the bar in design reviews, incidents, and roadmap debates • Typically ~7+ years of experience including people leadership • Strong technical background in .NET systems and Node.js/JavaScript applications • Experience managing legacy modernization as a delivery program (.NET Framework to modern .NET) • Fluency in API contracts, Kafka, observability, and reliability patterns • Experience running hiring processes for .NET and Node.js engineers and maintaining a high technical bar • Experience partnering effectively with senior technical leaders (Staff+ engineer) • Experience in payments, banking, or another regulated financial-services domain preferred • Familiarity with PCI DSS, SOC 2 Type II, or SOX IT general controls preferred • Experience with fraud detection, chargebacks/disputes, reconciliation, or AML/KYC systems preferred • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related quantitative field is nice to have • Specialization or applied experience in AI/ML is a plus • Prior individual-contributor experience as a Senior or Staff .NET engineer is nice to have
