📋 Description

• Design, develop, and assist in securing scalable application modules using Java and Thymeleaf • Use AI conversion tools and manual conversion methods to translate legacy PowerBuilder modules to a modern Java-based codebase • Collaborate with customer teams to review technical specifications, support smooth testing, and deliver high-quality code • Provide expert insights to improve application performance, reliability, and security • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive peer feedback • Document technical processes and solutions • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend systems • Work within Agile SDLC two- to three-week sprints, participate in daily scrums, and track work in sprint software • Guide junior developers, conduct code reviews, manage branch strategy, and maintain team code quality • Work within a DevSecOps delivery model • Help maintain automated CI/CD pipelines that build, test, scan, and deploy code • Triage automated security-tool findings and remediate vulnerabilities within established timeframes • Write automated unit and integration tests to support continuous delivery and coverage thresholds • Apply secure coding practices consistent with OWASP guidance and applicable DoD requirements, including relevant STIGs

🎯 Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen • Must have eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust/NACI position • Bachelor's degree required • Active/current 8140 IAT II certification required • At least 10 years of related experience • Expert proficiency and hands-on experience building applications in Java • Solid understanding of REST APIs, data structures, and backend best practices • Proficiency with Thymeleaf and various Thymeleaf modules • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot framework • Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and design principles • Expertise in cloud-native architectures, application refactoring, database migration, and SaaS integration • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code • Scripting skills in Python, Bash, and PowerShell • Experience with relational and non-relational databases • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, Ansible, and JFrog Artifactory • Understanding of Git/Gitbash, Git etiquette, and branching strategy • Desired, not required: experience in Agile environments, PowerBuilder, remote-team collaboration, DoD or USAF, AI code-conversion tools, and Agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex
