📋 Description

• Lead the Bonfire Squad, a full-stack team of senior engineers building Spotify’s artist promotion tool campaign management system and customer features • Foster relationships among engineers, cross-functional leads, Bonfire, and partner teams • Lead, coach, and develop experienced engineers while creating expectations, growth opportunities, and a healthy team environment • Engage in technical architecture and implementation discussions to challenge assumptions and identify risks • Partner with Product and Design on priorities, scope, product direction, customer decisions, and UX decisions • Own healthy delivery through prioritization, capacity management, operational health, and reliable execution of complex initiatives • Manage dependencies and alignment across team boundaries • Contribute hands-on to technical problem-solving and engineering work when useful • Help the team use AI effectively in engineering workflows and product operations • Hire and onboard engineers as the team evolves

🎯 Requirements

• Good experience managing software engineers and a demonstrated track record of developing and managing experienced technical ICs • Strong background in backend or full-stack engineering • Ability to engage credibly in architecture and technical design discussions • Product mindset and ability to challenge assumptions in product requirements • Ability to balance empowering experienced engineers with providing leadership when needed • Ability to manage substantial technical and product dependencies with partner teams • Willingness and ability to contribute hands-on as a player-coach when appropriate • Comfortable using AI tools and a point of view on improving engineering effectiveness with AI • Ability to give clear feedback, navigate disagreement, set expectations, and address team dynamics constructively • Commitment to healthy disagreement, clear ownership, accountability, and an inclusive environment
