📋 Description

• Lead and grow the Provider Ecosystem engineering team • Hire engineers, set the roadmap, conduct code reviews, handle incidents, and advocate for the team • Own provider adapters, endpoint lifecycle, and routing • Serve as technical counterpart to top providers • Run day-zero and stealth launches • Collaborate with GTM, BD, and legal to onboard providers • Expand capabilities into image, video, audio, embeddings, realtime, and batch inference • Own evaluations and inference quality • Use benchmark and production telemetry data to make routing decisions and provide provider feedback • Report to the VPE

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of engineering management experience • Experience building or scaling a team during rapid growth • Strong foundation in distributed systems, API design, and LLM inference • Understanding of streaming, tool calling, prompt caching, quantization, throughput and latency trade-offs • Understanding of provider API differences and routing millions of requests across heterogeneous endpoints • Hands-on coding experience and use of AI-assisted development tools • Ability to work externally with model labs and engineering teams • Experience recruiting and retaining strong engineers • High agency and clear communication • Pragmatic approach to lean engineering organizations • Nice to have: experience at an inference provider, model lab, GPU cloud, or with multiple LLM APIs • Nice to have: TypeScript, Cloudflare Workers, Postgres, ClickHouse, GCP, or Vercel • Nice to have: evals, benchmarking, routing, or load-balancing systems • Nice to have: multimodal APIs or realtime and batch inference • Nice to have: vendor security and compliance reviews, including NDA, DPA, and SOC 2 • Nice to have: OpenRouter use or AI infrastructure/developer tooling side projects
