📋 Description

• Lead the Consumer Credit Cards Marketplaces engineering team of 3–4 engineers • Own technical direction and people outcomes for high-traffic web shopping experiences • Drive architecture, technical decisions, planning, and milestones • Deliver on the product backlog and contribute to the engineering excellence roadmap • Set architectural direction and ensure high-quality delivery • Build and evolve the team’s AI developer harness • Orchestrate agentic automations across the software lifecycle from specification through review and deployment • Develop engineers’ AI-era skills, including prompting, spec-writing, and reviewing AI-generated code and designs • Conduct 1:1s, provide feedback, set growth plans, and manage performance • Partner with engineering leadership on performance, observability, scalability, security, and developer-experience initiatives • Support platform stability and resilience through monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident management • Maintain technical excellence, code quality, modernization, and AI tooling adoption • Collaborate with SEO strategists, Paid Marketers, Product, Business Development, Data & Analytics, and other stakeholders • Report to the Head of Engineering for Consumer Banking, Credit Cards & New Markets

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years in software engineering with a strong background as a hands-on Technical Lead • Expertise in TypeScript, React, and Node.js, with experience in additional modern languages • Strong experience with Next.js and React.js • Understanding of web performance, Core Web Vitals, and technical SEO • Experience architecting and building back-end APIs and microservices • Focus on scalability, performance, and data integrity • Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL database systems • Experience in high-volume data processing • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, Docker, and Kubernetes • Knowledge of security and compliance best practices, particularly in financial services • Experience in observability and running production applications, especially marketplaces, at scale • Hands-on experience with AI development tools and advanced AI-enabled workflows, including development harnesses, agentic automations/workflows, and spec-driven development • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (preferred) • Experience integrating Machine Learning systems, personalization pipelines, and data-driven experimentation (preferred) • Domain knowledge in finance and shopping marketplaces (preferred) • Understanding of accessibility best practices and usability/user experience (preferred) • Familiarity with paid and organic search strategies (preferred) • Legally authorized to work in the United States
