📋 Description

• Provide guidance and best practices for AngularJS upgrades and modernizations • Design, develop, and test new features in VA-provided applications • Communicate regularly with colleagues involved in development processes • Analyze, implement, test, and troubleshoot bug fixes • Design and implement software projects using C# and current Angular framework • Determine user needs and analyze system capabilities to resolve program and data problems • Prepare operating instructions • Design and develop autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code • Develop Java applications, APIs, and backend services using Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices • Conduct unit testing, debugging, and performance optimization • Identify bottlenecks and bugs and develop solutions • Prepare and produce software component releases • Document development processes and codebase structures • Ensure software standards and federal regulations, VA security policies, and industry best practices are met • Advise and consult VA stakeholders on IT strategy and solution design • Facilitate workshops and meetings with VA representatives • Implement security measures protecting sensitive VA data and IT system integrity • Conduct reviews and audits for ongoing compliance and performance • Collaborate with Project Managers, Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, architects, developers, testers, and VA stakeholders across the SDLC

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or a related field and five (5) years or more experience • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Required) • Ability to obtain a VA Position of Public Trust – Medium Background Investigation (MBI) • AngularJS 14 (at least) and/or up to and including 18; minimum 4 years of Angular experience • Strong experience with backend development including plugins and APIs • Strong proficiency in Java and core OOP concepts; minimum 4 years of Java experience • Experience with Spring Boot, REST API development, SQL, and microservices architecture • Familiarity with Maven, Gradle, and Git • Ability to design and implement Java-based applications in alignment with business objectives • Basic HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript 5.x, TypeScript 4.x, Bootstrap 5.x, and JQuery 3.6.x • MS SQL Server experience, including writing stored procedures, understanding SQL, creating tables, and managing databases • Experience with HTTP web servers, reverse proxies, content caches, load balancers, and TCP/UDP proxy servers • Visual Studio knowledge/experience, versions 2019–2022 • Strong work ethic and ability to manage workload and deliverables under tight deadlines • Self-starter with a positive attitude and very good interpersonal skills • Ability to work autonomously and efficiently in a remote environment • Reliable internet service allowing effective telecommuting • Preferred: Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs or other federal government software development programs • Preferred: Jira backend integration
