📋 Description

• Extend an existing Python class-based codebase • Build team proficiency in Microsoft Fabric and PySpark Python, including class development and structured streaming • Lead delivery for a multi-year data modernization program on Microsoft Fabric • Modernize the client’s data estate using a hub-and-spoke model and medallion architecture • Ingest enterprise data through the hub and process bronze, silver, and gold layers • Power analytics, downstream applications, and future AI-enabled solutions • Help advance real-time or near-real-time data processing • Guide delivery while mentoring client resources and junior data engineers • Set technical direction and raise engineering standards • Identify and solve complex business and technical challenges • Deliver scalable, secure, maintainable enterprise data solutions • Advise clients and project teams on risks, dependencies, delivery issues, and improvement opportunities

🎯 Requirements

• Availability to work East Coast hours • Fluent English communication skills • Experience with Microsoft Fabric and PySpark Python development, including class objects, structured streaming, Change Data Feed (CDF), and metadata-driven processes • Experience sourcing, transforming, and loading data into tables using notebooks • Experience leading or mentoring developers learning Microsoft Fabric, Python, and object-oriented development • Experience establishing and promoting engineering standards for code quality, testing, CI/CD, version control, monitoring, security, performance, and maintainability • Experience serving as a trusted technical advisor to clients and project teams, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, delivery issues, and improvement opportunities • Nice-to-have: real-time or near-real-time experience • Nice-to-have: experience with medallion architecture, especially the Silver layer • Nice-to-have: experience using AI tools to generate or accelerate code development • Nice-to-have: experience with data vault data models • Nice-to-have: experience working with higher education clients
