• Align business objectives with employees and management in designated business units • Formulate partnerships across HR to deliver value-added service to management and employees • Maintain business literacy regarding the business unit’s financial position, plans, culture, and competition • Maintain communication with respective business units • Consult with management of assigned hotels and provide HR guidance • Analyze trends and metrics with the HR team to develop solutions, programs, and policies • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues • Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and partner with the legal department as needed • Provide performance management guidance, including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions • Improve work relationships, morale, productivity, and retention • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation • Provide guidance on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning • Identify training needs and executive coaching needs • Participate in evaluating and monitoring training programs • Conduct quarterly HR audits at assigned hotels • Coach and mentor other positions and assigned hotel properties • Perform other related duties as assigned
• Minimum of 3 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential, or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment • Bachelor’s degree preferred • Hotel experience preferred • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and related administrative practices • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software • Ability to occasionally travel, including overnight • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods and lift up to 15 pounds
