📋 Description

• Independently conduct on-site property risk assessments for existing and limited prospective policyholders • Identify key loss drivers and property risk engineering exposures or deficiencies • Consult with customers and insureds on practical solutions and risk improvement recommendations • Evaluate high-hazard occupancies, including plastics manufacturing, aerosols, perfumes, sawmills, and other combustible or sprinkler-dependent operations • Generate technical property risk engineering reports and related documents recommending controls to minimize potential loss frequency and magnitude • Collaborate with Risk Analysts to resolve identified property risk engineering deficiencies • Partner with Technical/Project Specialists on risk engineering projects and initiatives • Mentor less experienced and junior Risk Engineering Consultants • Coordinate regularly with internal and external resources on risks of varying complexity • Provide input to risk engineering-related projects • Travel for field inspections, including occasional overnight stays and infrequent out-of-territory air travel

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline preferred • 8+ years in technical and/or engineering related experience • Property experience, including high-hazard property exposure, required • Strong understanding of NFPA Codes and Standards or equivalent Factory Mutual Guidelines • Proficient in Microsoft Word • Basic knowledge of Excel • Must be able to travel by car regularly, with limited air travel • Good command of fundamental and advanced technical concepts, practices, and procedures • Excellent communication skills, including communicating difficult or technical decisions with confidence and precision • High proficiency across Property Risk Engineering core competencies • Direct property risk engineering experience required; EHS-only or health and safety backgrounds are not aligned
