📋 Description

• Build and run AHEAD’s unified Data Platform Team, platform, and operating model • Own governed domain connections exposing curated reads, operational actions, and event-stream subscriptions • Own Snowflake architecture, security, workload management, performance optimization, lifecycle management, and resilience • Lead enterprise data governance across ownership, stewardship, quality, metadata, lineage, cataloging, retention, classification, and policy enforcement • Define authentication, authorization, access rights, self-service discovery, and use-case approval processes • Own FinOps, budgeting, spend visibility, chargeback/showback policy, unit economics, and cost optimization • Establish ingestion standards for batch, CDC, streaming, and event-driven sources • Own Bronze–Silver–Gold medallion architecture, transformation standards, testing, and reconciliation • Manage the data product lifecycle, documentation, catalog, federated contribution model, discoverability, and self-service consumption • Own event streaming and messaging infrastructure, event contracts, schemas, topics, retention, ordering, access rights, and integration with ingestion pipelines • Recruit, structure, and lead teams spanning platform engineering, data governance, data products, and event infrastructure • Architect governed write-back and event-emission patterns for systems, workflows, and AI agents • Partner with Engineering, Architecture, Product, Security, and application teams • Establish standards for monitoring, incident response, disaster recovery, service levels, and platform resilience • Own the roadmap and communicate architecture decisions, tradeoffs, business impact, and investment priorities to executives

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience • 12 or more years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, data architecture, or related technology roles • At least 5 years in a leadership role responsible for platform strategy, architecture, and engineering team leadership, including building a team or function from the ground up • Experience architecting and operating modern enterprise data platforms in cloud environments • Strong hands-on Snowflake experience covering platform design, performance optimization, security, workload management, and FinOps/cost governance • Experience designing and running data governance programs covering ownership, stewardship, quality, metadata, lineage, cataloging, classification, and policy enforcement • Experience designing data-platform access and authorization models for role-based, application-based, and AI-agent access • Experience with batch, CDC, and streaming ingestion patterns and Bronze/Silver/Gold processing architectures • Experience with event streaming and messaging infrastructure such as Kafka, MuleSoft, or equivalent, including event schema governance, topic design, retention policy, and integration with data-platform ingestion pipelines • Experience building data-product publishing programs, documentation standards, catalog design, and self-service consumption models • Experience building or enabling platforms supporting AI, intelligent automation, or agent-based workflows • Experience designing governed write-back or operational integration patterns • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills • Ability to align technical architecture decisions to business value

• Salary of $180,000–$210,000 per year • Remote work arrangement
