📋 Description

• Proofread 100% of every assigned transcript through a full sight-read before delivery • Perform a line-by-line audit while listening to source recordings to verify accuracy • Verify transcripts against the current TETP Transcriptionist Style Guide and Pre-Submission Checklist • Check speaker labels, bracketed notation, procedural notation formatting, numeral rules, and Oral Decision non-verbatim conventions • Confirm document properties, required bookmarks, and template compliance against the DOJ Case Hearing Template • Return transcripts with clear, specific corrective feedback when standards are not met • Re-review corrected transcripts before final sign-off • Escalate recurring individual transcriber quality issues to the Project Manager • Escalate ambiguous or unresolved style or policy questions through the Project Manager • Maintain weekly turnaround discipline to meet the Wednesday DOJ upload deadline • Work exclusively within the approved Azure Virtual Desktop environment • Complete reviews using approved playback software and Microsoft Word within the authorized security boundary • Meet 100% proofreading and full-audit performance standards • Apply typing, editing, and formatting corrections consistently with QASP requirements • Use current style guide and checklist versions in a traceable manner

🎯 Requirements

• AAERT certification, or a minimum of one year of experience transcribing or proofreading digital audio recordings of multi-channel courtroom or other fast-paced, multi-party legal proceedings • Demonstrated ability to use transcription/audio-review equipment and software with multi-speaker, overlapping audio • Consistent, demonstrated precision applying detailed style and formatting rules • Comfortable following a living, version-controlled style guide • Ability to balance multiple assigned cases, meet weekly deadlines, and maintain organized records • Direct, professional, and constructive corrective feedback to transcribers • Must obtain and maintain Public Trust–level security clearance • Subject to DOJ personnel security screening and required contract security training before production access • Prior direct experience with DOJ immigration court transcription or similar federal court transcription programs preferred • Familiarity with verbatim and non-verbatim transcription standards preferred • Must work within the approved Azure Virtual Desktop environment • No federal case data may be transferred to, stored on, or accessed from a personal device • Installation of unapproved software, including third-party steno/shorthand tools, is prohibited

• Pay is calculated using a per-page rate that varies by turnaround tier • Faster-turnaround assignments carry a higher per-page rate • Routine Audio File Transcription QA: $0.50 per page • Priority I Audio File Transcription QA: $0.59 per page • Priority II Audio File Transcription QA: $0.64 per page • Premium Audio File Transcription QA: $0.68 per page • Same Day Audio File Transcription QA: $0.80 per page • Standard AVD tooling (VIQ Player, Microsoft 365, approved browsers) is provided • Experienced reviewers generally earn $22–$35/hour at typical tiers, depending on reading speed and case complexity
