📋 Description

• Own the modeling engine, including transfer tax computation, waterfall and distribution modeling, and consolidation work • Model trusts and estates flexibly and thoughtfully through complex data modeling • Work with JDs and CPAs to validate calculations against practitioner methods • Investigate nuanced tax-code interactions with state attorneys general • Expose a deterministic computation layer and hypothetical modeling capabilities through tools for extraction and agentic workflows • Ship small, reviewable changes to production multiple times a day through CI • Talk to customers, understand their needs, and shape product requirements • Collaborate with the CEO, Head of Engineering, Head of Product, and in-house subject matter experts

🎯 Requirements

• Four or more years of software engineering experience at companies with strong engineering practices • Preference for domain complexity and modeling intricate real-world systems • Rigorous approach to correctness, edge cases, and verifiable logic • Product-minded approach to shaping requirements and understanding business impact • Backend experience with Go, Postgres, Temporal, and GraphQL • Experience with Honeycomb, Braintrust, and PostHog is relevant to the monitoring stack • Ability to communicate effectively in a partially remote team • Willingness and ability to learn the wealth-transfer domain from JDs and CPAs • Luminary is unable to sponsor employment visas or provide immigration support
