Description

• Execute and lead distribution strategy, including P&L objectives, product and expansion for the business • Provide Executive level authority for risk referrals and underwriting guidance to the team, when called upon • Develop strategies and actions to resolve adverse trends or deviations from established underwriting standards identified through producer and account review audits • Continually seeks opportunities for niche products and potential agent opportunities; cultivates local distribution relationships within the local region(s) • Act as a role model demonstrating belief in, and commitment to, the aspiration values of Argo Group, continuing to build and lead a value-based organization committed to long-term success

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and at least 12+ years of years of dedicated Inland Marine underwriting with clear progression of scope and responsibility or equivalent combination of education and experience • Proven leadership capabilities with a sound influence in dealing with challenging situations • Independent decision maker – takes full responsibility for making decisions and consequences associated with decisions • Experience managing a book of at least $10m • Excellent organization skills, very strong analytical, oral and written communication skills required. The ability to meet tight deadlines is essential
