Description

• As Cloverly’s Head of Engineering, you’ll be responsible for designing and delivering software that enables the carbon economy. We’re already connecting suppliers of carbon removals and offsets with the companies who want to take action now; you’ll double down on our existing strengths while partnering with our product and commercial teams on new products to help suppliers bring their goods to market and help companies ensure the quality of any carbon credits they purchase. • In the course of this work you will: * Lead, mentor, hire, and develop our core engineering team * Collaborate with leadership in developing and delivering our long-term product roadmap * Assess and pragmatically adopt tools, vendors, and practices to accelerate development * Directly implement features and functionality alongside the rest of the team * Set and maintain high standards for talent, process, and software quality • You’ll report directly to Jason, our CEO, and your technical know-how and business acumen will be a key input to every aspect of our roadmap, strategy, and operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience managing teams of in-house and contract developers • A strong track record delivering greenfield products • Experience implementing and supporting enterprise customers and B2B sales • A principled approach to risk-management and compliance, including experience with industry-standard certifications (SOC2, ISO27001, etc) • Deep expertise in the technologies we use day to day (AWS/Terraform, Python, TypeScript/React) • Extraordinary communication skills and an effortless ability to represent engineering effort in both technical and commercial terms • Passion for environmental sustainability and a strong commitment for addressing climate change • Previous experience in an early-stage (pre-Seed => Series A) startup environment • Work history or demonstrable knowledge of the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM)
