📋 Description

• Integrate simple to complex Java/JEE and WebSphere applications into development, test, and production environments • Formulate and enforce application deployment and integration standards • Design, develop, implement, and support runtime architecture for complex system landscapes • Automate deployments and configuration management • Participate in project meetings and contribute to middleware solution design and implementation • Provide architectural designs, diagrams, and recommendations in architecture meetings • Facilitate project planning, estimating, and non-functional requirements • Analyze the environment and recommend and implement improvements • Drive process improvements and innovative thinking • Review the technical operating environment for compliance with corporate networking standards • Troubleshoot complex issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement solutions • Research modern technologies to improve deployments, uptime, and customer impact • Maintain architectural diagrams, policies, procedures, standards, and operating-environment documentation • Act as technical lead for the Middleware team • Develop, maintain, and evaluate Disaster Recovery plans • Mentor junior engineers and foster continuous learning and technical excellence

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field—or equivalent experience • 5+ years of DevOps engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or lead role • Proven experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins, and release automation • Strong infrastructure-as-code skills with Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation • Experience with multi-account cloud patterns • Observability experience with OpenTelemetry, tracing, metrics, logging, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or CloudWatch • Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, Glassfish, Payara, or WebLogic • Experience with application performance monitoring, disaster recovery planning, and high availability solutions • Understanding of SSL, load balancers, DNS, and networking fundamentals • Experience with LoadRunner, RFHUTIL, or JUnit • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SDLC processes • Strong documentation, architectural diagramming, and technical leadership skills • Security-first approach involving SAST/DAST, secrets scanning, OIDC/OAuth, and RBAC • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and irregular hours • AAA Life Insurance Company does not offer immigration sponsorship; applicants must not currently require or potentially require employer-sponsored immigration support • Preferred: insurance, financial services, or regulated-industry background • Preferred: IBM MQ, Message Broker, DataPower, WSRR, middleware security, SQL/NoSQL databases, Citrix NetScaler, F5, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Backstage, and platform-as-product practices
