📋 Description

• Own the end-to-end software lifecycle from requirements gathering and system design through planning, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance • Maintain and modernize mission-critical Linux-based applications across on-premises and AWS environments • Own ongoing support and the design/roadmap for phased modernization, including research, requirements gathering, architecture, design, and rollout • Research and learn specialized legacy systems, including Apache NiFi • Operate Python/Django/PostgreSQL and PHP/MySQL application stacks • Manage cloud-hybrid environments involving on-premises virtual servers and AWS Kubernetes • Design and implement cross-application integrations using REST, SOAP, SFTP, HL7, and FHIR • Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and day-to-day development support to the core platform engineering team • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, customers, and external partners to translate business needs into technical solutions • Drive engineering objectives and KPIs for product delivery, team performance, software quality, and system security • Promote clean, maintainable code, refactoring, technical debt management, and engineering best practices • Champion DevOps and CI/CD practices, including feature toggles, automated testing, observability, and frequent deployments • Investigate and resolve authentication failures, data mapping errors, and data ingestion anomalies • Use AI-assisted development tools while maintaining code quality

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of full-stack software engineering experience • Strong hands-on Python development with Django or a comparable framework • PHP/Laravel experience is a strong plus • Experience planning multi-phase modernization of mission-critical legacy systems • Experience with React or Vue • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL and scalable cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS • Hands-on experience designing and troubleshooting REST and SOAP API integrations, including flat-file and SFTP-based exchanges • Knowledge of secure authentication and authorization standards, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and SAML • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code reviews, and modern DevOps practices • Ability to set technical direction and drive performance against team KPIs • Excellent collaboration and communication skills; self-motivated and effective working independently in a remote-first environment • Experience with data integration and ETL tools such as Apache NiFi, Snowflake, or AWS S3 is a plus • Healthcare data formats (HL7, FHIR, X12), EMR systems and APIs, C#/.NET, or Java experience is a bonus
